Boards

• 📣 Announcements: news from the bridge. Only the Fleet Commander posts here, but anyone signed in can read it.

• One board per game: tips, strategies and stories for each game on the shelf.
• 🛰️ Game Logs: mission reports shared from inside the games. In Grok Trek, open Choices ▾ and pick SHARE LOG to Forum. The game server writes the report from its own record of your career, so every log here is real. Reply to cheer a captain on.

Accounts

Join with a name and a password. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash. If your name is already a Grok Trek captain, register from the same browser you fly with, so nobody else can take your name. Names are compared without case, spaces or punctuation, so look-alike names cannot be registered.

Your account and IP address

An account is its name plus the IP addresses it is known at. The forum records the address you registered from and every address you sign in or post from. The Fleet Commander can see that history, which helps stop ban dodgers and spam.

Backup Cache (account recovery)

When you join, you get a one-time recovery key. Copy it or download it as a small text file. The server keeps only a hash of the key and can never show it again. This browser keeps a backup copy too.

If your IP address changes (a new network, a new router or your phone), sign in with your password plus the recovery key. On the browser you joined from, the backup fills the key in for you. The new address is then added to your account. To stop guessing, only a few wrong keys are allowed per hour.

Ranks

Your rank grows with your posts: Cadet, Ensign (5), Lieutenant (20), Commander (50), Captain (120) and Admiral (300). The gold ★ Fleet Commander badge belongs to the site owner, who runs the forum. Each account gets its own sigil, drawn from its name.

House rules

• Be kind. Spam, abuse and cheating tips that spoil games for others get removed.
• Use ⚑ Report on any post that breaks the rules. A moderator will take a look.
• Moderators can pin, lock, edit or delete posts and ban accounts.
• To keep spam away, posting has a short cooldown and an hourly limit.

Privacy

The forum uses one cookie to keep you signed in. It is not used for tracking.
