Grok Tapper
An original bar-serving arcade game. You are the Grok bartender of the Starport cantinas, including the Free Port Casino Lounge from Grok Trek. Keep a crowd of thirsty aliens happy across up to four bar counters.
How to play
- Type a name and press Register once if you want your scores on the leaderboard. Without a name you play practice shifts.
- Press Start game (or Enter, or tap the playfield).
- Patrons come in through the doors on the left and shuffle towards your taps on the right. Up and Down jump you to the tap of another bar.
- At a tap, hold Pour until the mug is full and foamy, then let go to slide it down the bar. With Pour: Tap to pour in Choices, one tap fills and slides it for you.
- A patron who catches a drink is pushed back. Push them out of the door and they're done. Otherwise they finish the drink and slide the empty mug back. Be on that bar to catch it.
- Left and Right walk you along the bar to grab tips and meet empty mugs early. You can only pour at the tap.
Losing a life
- A patron reaches the end of the bar.
- A full drink slides off the end with nobody to catch it.
- An empty mug falls off your end of the bar.
When you lose a life the bars are cleared, and the patrons who were waiting come back in. You start with 3 lives.
Tips, shows and extras
- Tips are coins left on the bar. Grab one to start a holo-show: every patron stops to watch the dancing hologram for a few seconds.
- A Lucky Star sometimes appears instead of a tip. It forgives your next slip (shown at the top right).
- VIP patrons wear a gold crown. They walk a little faster, always tip, and are worth 500 when they leave.
- Serve drinks in a row without a slip to build a combo.
- After every second level comes the Fizz Shuffle bonus round. Five fizz tubes get shaken and one stays calm. Watch the calm green tube through the shuffle, then pick it for 3000 points and an extra life (up to 5).
- Hints (on by default) flash a mark over patrons getting close and an arrow at bars where an empty mug is about to fall.
Difficulty
The first shifts are gentle. Level 1 has two bars, a few slow patrons who leave after one drink, and a long time to fill each mug. Each level adds a little: a third bar, then a fourth, and patrons who walk faster and want two or three drinks. Mugs come back faster and the gaps between patrons get shorter. The four venues are the Docking Bay Cantina, the Free Port Casino Lounge, the Nebula Night Bar and the Zero-G Lounge. A game ends after an hour of play.
Fair scores
When you play under a registered name, the server picks the random seed for your game and the page records only your inputs and when. When the game ends the server replays that record on its own copy (whole-number maths, so both give exactly the same result) and posts the score it gets. A score can't be typed in or edited, and each game can be posted once.
Autosave
If you close or reload the page in the middle of a game, it comes back paused exactly where you left it. There is no undo.
Leaderboards and chat
The High scores tab shows each player's best verified score and the level reached, and Overall shows the site-wide totals. Grok Chat pops up from the corner. Use Share on X at the top to tell your friends.
All names, art and sounds are original, drawn and synthesized in code for this game.
