Grok Hunter
An original top-down agent road shooter. You drive the Vector, an interceptor car with a forward gun, oil slicks and smoke screens, up an endless highway full of enemy agents. On the river it turns into a speedboat. Wreck the foes, spare the civilians and smash the Juggernaut armoured truck at the end of every section.
How to play
- Type a name and press Register once if you want your scores on the leaderboard. Without a name you play practice games.
- Press Start game (or Enter, or tap the playfield).
- Steer with Left and Right, change speed with Faster and Slower, hold Fire to shoot ahead, press Special for oil, smoke or a missile, and hold Turbo for a burst of speed while the gauge lasts.
- Stay on the road: a few seconds on the grass or the river bank wrecks the car.
Who's who
- Civilians (small coloured cars): don't hit or shoot them (-250, and your combo resets).
- Rammers come up from behind and shove you sideways. Shove them back off the road, or catch them with oil.
- Razor cars have spinning side blades: touching one wrecks you.
- Gunners sit ahead of you and fire backwards. Shoot first.
- Hornet helicopters (from section 3) drop bombs. Only missiles bring them down.
- Supply vans: drive into the back of one for 3 oil slicks, smoke screens or missiles.
- The Juggernaut waits at the end of each section, weaving across the road and dropping barrels. Shoot it until its armour bar is empty (a missile counts 4 hits).
Extras
- Turbo: the gauge refills slowly as you drive and a little with every wreck.
- Special picks the best weapon for you: missiles when a Hornet or the Juggernaut is about, oil when someone is on your tail, otherwise smoke.
- Garage: between sections, spend cash on armour plates, a faster gun or a bigger oil tank. Cash is earned with your points, and spending it never lowers your score.
- Armour (up to 3 plates) costs 1,500 in sections 1–3, then rises each section: 1,800, 2,100, 2,400, 2,800, 3,200, 3,600, 4,000, 4,500 and 5,000 from section 12 on. A crash costs 1 plate in sections 1–4, 2 plates in sections 5–8 and all 3 from section 9.
- Night sections show only what your headlights reach. Rain and snow cut your grip, so the car slides further.
- Jump ramps (striped bars across the road) launch you over everything for a moment (+100).
- Combo: clean driving (no wrecks, no civilians, no time off the road) raises your multiplier up to ×5.
- The bar on the right is your route map: you, the river stretches in blue, and the Juggernaut waiting at the top.
Rules and difficulty
- You start with 4 cars and earn extra ones as you score (up to 6): every 10,000 points at first, with the gap growing in later sections (12,000 in section 5, rising to 25,000 by section 12). At the start of every section a free-car timer runs (45 seconds in section 1): wrecks during it don't cost a car.
- Difficulty ramps slowly. Section 1 is dry daylight with mostly civilians and a few Rammers, at most two cars at once, a wide road, long forgiveness off the road and a 10-hit Juggernaut. Section 2 adds rain, the river and Razor cars; section 3 is at night and adds Gunners and Hornets. After that each section is a little longer, with more and faster enemies, narrower roads, less time off-road, a shorter free-car timer and a tougher Juggernaut.
- A game ends after an hour of play.
Fair scores
When you play under a registered name, the server picks the random seed for your game and the page records only which buttons you held and when. When the game ends the server replays that record on its own copy of the game rules (whole-number maths, so both give exactly the same result) and posts the score it gets. A score can't be typed in or edited, and each game can be posted once.
Autosave
If you close or reload the page in the middle of a game, it comes back paused exactly where you left it. There is no undo: the record only ever grows.
Leaderboards and chat
The High scores tab shows each player's best verified score and section, and Overall shows the site-wide totals. Grok Chat pops up from the corner. Use Share on X at the top to tell your friends.
