Grokey Kong
An original climbing platformer at the Starport. Grokey, a giant space ape-bot, has grabbed the engineer Astra and climbed to the top of the launch scaffold. You are Rivet, the starport mechanic. Climb the girders and ladders, jump the fuel canisters Grokey rolls down at you and bring Astra home.
How to play
- Type a name and press Register once if you want your scores on the leaderboard. Without a name you play practice games.
- Press Start game (or Enter, or tap the playfield).
- Walk with Left and Right, climb ladders with Up and Down, and Jump over hazards. Jumping while walking carries you forward.
- Jump up into a floating power wrench to grab it: for nine seconds it smashes anything in front of you, but you can't climb or jump while you hold it.
Stages
- Scaffold: sloping girders. Grokey rolls fuel canisters that tumble off the ends and sometimes down the ladders; canisters that reach the fuel vat can flare up into wandering plasma sparks. Reach Astra at the top.
- Cargo deck: conveyor belts push you along and carry cargo crates that drop off the ends. Reach the top deck.
- Lift shaft: ride the rising lift and step off onto a ledge at the right moment (stay on too long and you are crushed at the top), then dodge the spring drones bouncing along the top girder.
- Bolt tower: walk over all eight glowing power bolts and Grokey's tower comes crashing down.
Rules
- You start with 5 lives and earn an extra one every 10,000 points (up to 7). A hit, a long fall or the bonus timer running out costs a life and restarts the stage; pulled bolts stay pulled.
- Short drops are fine, but falling too far costs a life. Early stages forgive a longer drop.
- Difficulty ramps slowly. Stage 1 is the scaffold on its own, with slow canisters, at most two on the girders at once, none taking the ladders, a long bonus timer, wide ladder grabs and a forgiving hit box. Each new stage speeds up the canisters, crates, sparks, springs and lifts a little, lets more hazards out at once, sends more canisters down ladders, shortens the bonus timer and tightens the hit box. Round 1 is just the scaffold; round 2 adds the bolt tower, round 3 the cargo deck, and from round 4 you get all four stages.
- A game ends after an hour of play.

Fair scores
When you play under a registered name, the server picks the random seed for your game and the page records only which buttons you held and when. When the game ends the server replays that record on its own copy of the game rules (whole-number maths, so both give exactly the same result) and posts the score it gets. A score can't be typed in or edited, and each game can be posted once.
Autosave
If you close or reload the page in the middle of a game, it comes back paused exactly where you left it. There is no undo: the record only ever grows.
Leaderboards and chat
The High scores tab shows each player's best verified score and stage, and Overall shows the site-wide totals. Grok Chat pops up from the corner. Use Share on X at the top to tell your friends.
