Grok Colony

An original colony builder on Mars. You land with a few settlers and a lander, and every sol (Mars day) the colony breathes, drinks, eats, works and grows. Keep it alive through dust storms and meteor rain, research new technology, and in the end turn the red sky green.

Needs: every colonist uses 1 oxygen and 1 food a sol, and water for every two colonists. Run short of oxygen and you lose people. Hunger, thirst, crowding, unemployment, broken habitats and storms all lower morale, and if morale falls below 20% colonists head home. Rec domes and terraforming raise it.

Buildings (cost in metal, some also credits; most need workers and power):

Colonists arrive in waves if there is room in the habitats. Some are specialists: engineers boost reactors, botanists boost greenhouses, scientists boost labs and miners boost drills and mines. Buildings are staffed in priority order: power first, then life support, then industry.

Tech tree: 14 technologies, from Better Panels and Hydroponics to Fission, Dust Filters, Meteor Shields, Geothermal, Terraforming, Atmo Seeding and Magnetosphere.

Campaign: 10 missions, from First Footprints (grow to 8 settlers) to New Dawn (50 colonists and a 30% terraformed sky). Each has a time limit in sols, and they ramp up with longer storms, meteor seasons, trade goals and terraforming targets. A mission win scores 1000 + 20 per colonist + 10 per spare sol + 40 per tech + terraforming, with a 300 bonus for a first-try win.

Sandbox: no time limit. Terraform Mars to 100% for a 5000 bonus. Your best sandbox score counts.

Daily colony: one seeded map and 60 sols, the same for everyone that day. It scores colonists, terraforming, techs, credits earned and morale.

Score: best score of every mission × difficulty (Normal ×1.25, Hard ×1.5) + sandbox best + daily + an 8000 bonus for finishing the campaign. Harder modes start with less metal and bring more storms and meteors. Log off to post. The game autosaves with no undo, and every score is replay-checked on the server.
